Description
The current AdminDesktop installer requires that UV be installed with EchoPAC and/or TomTec software. Typically UV is installed and then the add-on packages of TomTec or EchoPAC are installed separately. This allows for quality checks for each software package as it is installed and allows for add-on purchases separate from UV sales. A customer may purchase UV with TomTec and then months later purchase EchoPAC software. When EchoPAC is purchased the delivery of the software can be weeks after the UV software delivery. Thus UV can be installed and in customer testing and then EchoPAC is added at a later date and install instance. In order to add-on either TomTech or EchoPAC we must go to the upgrade select both UV and the add-on software (i.e., EchoPAC). The system then runs checks for the UV and may or may not upgrade it and then installed the EchoPAC plugin. This puts the UV install at risk as a configuration may be overwritten or broken. We are requesting that the AdminDesktop software installer be updated to allow the user be able to select installing each component together (UV with EchoPAC and/or TomTec as it is today OR select each package individually to install Only UV or Only EchoPAC or Only TomTec). |
