MWL reconciliation issue in UV

Customer requested to setup a call with UV Support and PowerShare FE to resolve a MWL reconciliation issue in UV.

Call has been scheduled today at 12PM EST.

Joined the call with Chris Reece from PowerShare and Dawn from the site.

They had few questions on MWL reconciliation issue in UV.

As per them the issue with MWL reconciles is definitely the intermittent presence of the DICOM tag, Issuer of patient ID, in some studies shared to us by outside faculties.

Unfortunately, this field is not reconciled in the MWL reconcile workflow (though, we have an enhancement to add such a feature in the future).

However, the best workaround for now would be Power Share's Auto Order Generation workflow.

They have a case submitted to the Nuance PowerShare Support Team.

Case#: 04428389

Subject: Unreconciled studies arriving in PACS

Problem Summary:

PACS is not displaying the reconcile MRN from PowerShare when studies are reconciled in PowerShare and then pushed to PACS. Instead, a very long 'placeholder?' value instead (ex: 0001P1234534325).

We confirmed that this we see in PACS related and not specific to PowerShare or MRN value in the DICOM metadata.

Specifically, there is a DICOM requirement that is preventing PACS from accepting the updated value: issuer of Patient ID (0010,0021) is not blank.

Some PACS systems will prevent an outside MRN from accidentally matching against a duplicate internal MRN -when there is a value present in the issuer of patient ID field OR when that value is not related to the internal facility.

Workarounds

PowerShare-Enhancement

There is an open enhancement request where facilities are seeking a change to remove/reconcile issuer of patient id in PowerShare - ADO- 1680971. We have added SC Oncology to this enhancement.

GEPACS Enhancement

We informed them that we will create an enhancement on the GE side to accommodate such studies with outside values listed for issuer of patient ID.

PowerShare-DICOM Intermediary (Auto Order Generation Gateway)

For Power Share's Auto Order Generation workflow, studies are sent through a DICOM intermediary gateway application (UltraGateway) to facilitate the auto reconciling of outside images. This gateway can strip out the issuer of patient ID field when images are passed from the AGW to PACS through this AOG workflow.

Resolution Summary:

------------------------------

Investigated issue and confirmed reconciled metadata is included in the studies being sent from PowerShare to PACS.

Provided some PowerShare Support availability for a subsequent call with GE PACS vendor support resource
