On-prem architecture

for Mainland China market, customer prefer on-prem architecture. In past years, many local vender provide cloud architecture and deployment product solution. However, judging from the actual usage in the Chinese market in the past few years, today customers rarely mention cloud deployment. There are several main reasons:

 1. PACS is the core production system of the hospital. Many hospitals in China use PACS systems 24/7. Therefore, the operation and maintenance management responsibilities of the system need to be controllable within the hospital, and the information department can intervene in the first time. Judging from the practice of cloud computing in the past few years, the control and response time of public cloud hospitals will be greatly weakened.

 2. Consideration from the cost perspective: Cloud deployment has high requirements for transmission networks (bandwidth, security). If a large number of DICOM images are to be transmitted in real time, the network cost that the hospital has to pay will be very huge. Even so, the overall transmission performance is still far lower than the gigabit network in the hospital.
