Please note: This enhancement request, though submitted under Workflow Manager product, requires a wholistic solution that encompasses all CPACS components.
Current design of Centricity PACS and associated viewers support only 2 levels of exam priority – STAT and ROUTINE. However, Canadian customers require capability to implement additional exam priority levels aligned to their HIS/RIS system in order to further prioritize exam reading workflows in PACS, beyond the 2 levels of exam priorities currently supported.
Feature requirements:
- ability to support multiple, configurable exam priority levels (1-n exam priority levels)
- ability to support CCG mapping of exam priority levels received from HIS/RIS via HL7 to the Centricity PACS database
- ability to view the exam priority level on a user's worklist with visual distinction between different exam priorities (all viewers)
- ability to view the exam priority level on a user's worklist (all viewers)
- default worklist sorting by ascending exam priority level with exams of highest priority listed at the top (all viewers)
- ability for users to manually sort and filter worklists based on exam priority level (all viewers)
- ability for privileged user to be able to change the priority level of an exam in CPACS based on the exam priority levels
- ability to customize the description of an exam priority level appearing on a user’s worklist to align with nomenclature used on HIS/RIS side (all viewers)
As an example of use case for this feature, sites in Ontario, Canada are required to comply with the Ontario Wait Time Information System (WTIS) definition of exam priority levels defined as follows:
Exam Priority level 1 – Immediate
Exam Priority level 2 – Inpatient or Urgent (within 24 hours)
Exam Priority level 3 – Semi-Urgent (within 10 days)
Exam Priority level 4 – Non-urgent (within 4 weeks)
