Provide an application setting to allow for color inversion on NM images having [0028,004] dicom tag = Monochrome 2

Customer complaint:

Images that have been acquired in the INVERSE color scheme (black image on white background) are being reversed in PACS to LINEAR color scheme (white image on black background)

The application looks to be displaying the images with a black background based on the fact that they are using the Monochrome 2 value for the photometric interpretation as noted above.

Suggested actions provided to customer have been:

1) Send images using Monochrome1 (They stated they could not do this)

2) Modify/Introduce changes to HP's/Layouts to handle the inversion process/request. (This was not satisfactory due to the reduced clarity on the images

In an effort to provide a means for customer to handle this scenario, I am entering I/O request to see if this was possible.

We look to currently have a setting to accomplish this for PET studies?

Setting:

User Preferences - Window Leveling

"Display PET images with White background (Monochrome 1)

Unsure of anything can be done in regards to this issue, but creating I/O in an effort to close the loop for the customer and their request for a resolution.
