Saudi customer using Departmental systems from GEHC already from several years (like RIS/PACS/EA/UV/ZFP).
Customer is using the Sectra VNA, and it is basically plugging in the gap in other departments (like Audiology Dept., Endoscopy Dept…etc.;) where customer do not have a departmental system. Sectra is plugging in the gap using their IDS7 application (which is like GEHC Media Manager application).
As a legal requirement Saudi customer is bound to have the order management at the National level (NAFES).
IDS7 can fetch orders from EMR. The data captured from modalities/devices are stored in a shared folder from where they are attached to the order in IDS7.
For modalities which support DICOM Modality Worklist, Sectra is using Cloverleaf – similar to GEHC.
GEHC Media Manager is not capable of handling the order-based submissions to the patients but can only handle the submissions that are based on the patient level search from MPI.
Sectra’s distributor in the region tried to use the VNA as an approach to switch the customer from GEHC to Sectra.
GEHC sales approached the customer that GEHC VNA can handle all the workflows involved in the departments. Customer is positive to go with GEHC if Media Manager can take care of the order-based submissions to VNA.
Timelines: Customer is expecting the solution in 6 months.
Cloud or On-prem: Customer is only on-prem setup.
Customer is ready for the direct purchase (no RFP) for GEHC VNA
