In RIS, WFM & in UV is a button available that reads ‘SCAN TO VNA’ which opens Media Manager Web Application, directly in context. It is a requirement that Media Manager collects from RIS/WFM/UV at a minimum following dicom attributes, possibly via API integration or alternative.
Following dicom data should be available/transferable:
(0008,0020) |
Study Date |
(0008,0050) |
Accession Number / procedure ID |
(0008,1030) |
Study Description |
(0010,0010) |
Patient’s Name |
(0010,0020) |
Patient ID |
(0010,0030) |
Patient’s Birthdate |
Addiitonal RIS fields

Media Manager Web opens with patient & exam details already inserted.
Pre-selection of document type (X-Ray request) should be configurable + adjustable in the GUI, as well as the output type (PDF and/or dicom wrapped image – t.b.d.).
Media Manager WEB and Mobile need to have similar operational capabilities/functionalities.
It should be possible for Media Manager (Web + mobile) to
scan a single document and store it in multiple destinations/archives (configurable/selectable/changeable).
store a single document in one single location but in two different formats, one being e.g. PDF, JPEG, PNG,… one being a dicom wrapped file of the same document.
-
be configured to
send to single/multiple destinations.
send a scanned document in single or multiple and selectable formats
set by default single/multiple destinations & formats.
-
(auto)send a copy of the object to a (foreign or non-foreign) destination
When the document is scanned with Media Manager, it is possible to configure to store as a
PDF document (X-Ray Request), viewable & filterable in Patient Timeline
Dicom wrapped object - immediately inserted in the empty study, based on the associated patient, study & dicom data.
Viewing of the document
If the XDS system s preferred, the minimal spec of document presentation as requested by UZA is < 1 second. If the button ‘Request’ is clicked upon, the request should be visible in pop up screen in less than 1 second.
-
It needs to be investigated if all related documents that belong to the first 5 studies in the worklist can be pre-fetched, preferably also on the activated (and last used filter).
Media Manager needs to be able to be called via API call and Medi Manager Engineering needs to develop the API which can then be used in WFM / UV / RIS.
In RIS Rad Cockpit, it is already possible to see the XDS documents as RIS is an XDS consumer. It is possible to set up filters for viewing documents. We can most likely tune this to see the request.

Why have that as a feature of Media Manager?
Would it not be better as a feature in the PACS itself?
