File consistancy and File Orphan Monitor

No description provided
Description

Increased number of Ransomware Attacks requires an easy way to guarantee the consistancy of archived data. But also daily service tasks requires file checks after storage migrations, storage replacements and stroage failures.

Beside the consistancy check of files (example compare a checksum for each file on the local arrived folder with the checksum for the created file on NAS) an Orphan Monitor (like in CPACS used for STS) is required to find files with no link in the archive database (LTA orphans) and based on the database files which are missing on the storage (database orphans).

EA has the concept of Unreferenced files which are the files that have no link in the Archive Database. These files are deleted automatically in the background during the maintenance.

EA has a tool called "Instance file present check" which searches for the missing files on the storage device.
